Match Recap
In a thrilling encounter at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium, Al Hilal emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Al Nassr in the Saudi Super Cup semifinal on Thursday. Sadio Mane's late strike ultimately sealed the victory for Al Hilal, sending the Riyadh giants through to the final.
Al Nassr started the match brightly, with their talisman Cristiano Ronaldo looking dangerous throughout. However, it was Al Hilal who took the lead in the 35th minute through a stunning strike from Colombian forward Gustavo Cuellar. Al Nassr leveled matters just before halftime as Ronaldo pounced on a loose ball in the box to equalize.
The second half was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams creating chances but failing to find the back of the net. With the match seemingly headed for a penalty shootout, Mane popped up in the 119th minute to score the winning goal for Al Hilal. The Senegalese forward latched onto a cross from the left wing and fired a powerful header into the top corner.
Al Hilal will now face Al Feiha in the Super Cup final on Saturday, while Al Nassr will have to regroup and prepare for their upcoming Saudi Pro League fixtures.
