Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty has been named the 2023 WNBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) in a close three-way race. Stewart narrowly edged out Alyssa Thomas of the Connecticut Sun and Aja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces.
WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert presented Stewart with the prestigious award. The Liberty star led her team to a 24-6 record, securing second place in the league standings and a playoff spot.
Stewart's outstanding performance on both ends of the court earned her the MVP title. She averaged 21.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 56.4% from the field.
